Principal’s Message

I would like to welcome you to Murray Bridge South Primary School.

We are a rural school located 78km from Adelaide CBD and cater for Reception to Year 6 students. The school values of Respect; Honesty; Perseverance; Community Spirit are aligned to our school motto of Learning, Achieving and Belonging.

Murray Bridge South Primary School is on a continual journey of school improvement; this journey ensures the academic and intellectual rigour of the learning programs maintain their high standards. Children are the focus for everything we do, our strategy about the future of the school – what they should know, understand, value and be able to do as a result of the education we provide.

Our classroom programmes are developed from the Australian Curriculum and reflect an approach that caters for a spread of learning needs. The teaching and learning programs at Murray Bridge South Primary School are planned to cater for the individual needs, learning styles and interests of our students as well as ensuring we challenge and extend students. We see our role as empowering our students through helping them to gain knowledge – knowledge of facts, skills, processes and attitudes. Knowledge of skills that they will need to acquire if they are truly to be lifelong learners. At our school we put student learning outcomes first and have high expectations on student achievements.

At Murray Bridge South Primary School we demand excellent behaviour and to do this we have a culture where students can learn in a calm, orderly, safe, and supportive environment. Everyone must be able to learn and feel safe. There is an expectation that all staff, parents and students respect the rights of others at all times. We expect and encourage your support in ensuring a safe environment for all.

Every parent and carer plays a critical part in their child’s education at school. I encourage you to find out what is happening in the school environment, especially in your child’s classroom. There are many ways you can be involved in the school, including attending and being part of School Council, helping out with the occasional Working Bee and assisting in many different ways in the classrooms. I would encourage you to get to know your child’s teacher. Feel free to make an appointment to see them and find out more about your child’s learning journey.

We look forward to being part of your child’s educational journey as they learn, develop and reach their best at Murray Bridge South Primary School.

Yours Sincerely,

Nathan Taylor
